Target Users
We surveyed 3,000 CHEF iQ users to understand their usage patterns and preferences. From the 500 responses we received, we identified an opportunity to introduce a new feature that allows users to generate organized grocery lists for their planned recipes. Additionally, users can have the required ingredients delivered to their doorstep.

I researched both direct and indirect competitors that offer ingredient delivery for recipes. For each platform, I analyzed their respective user journeys to assess their strengths and weaknesses.

The ingredient delivery user journey is divided into these following four sections. These sections are based on the tasks the user needs to accomplish. The key features mentioned below can make this task simple and fulfilling.
Ingredients list & recipe section:
In this section, users can manage their ingredients, adding or editing them based on what they have on hand.
1. It would be beneficial to have an "edit serving size" feature that also automatically adjusts the quantities of ingredients required.
2. The option to select alternative ingredients is a valuable addition.
Shopping list / grocery bag:
In this section, the user can compile a list of all the ingredients from multiple recipes. This can be reviewed, edited and checked out by the user.
1. It will be a plus if the user can review the name of recipes for which they are ordering ingredient.
2. An added feature could be allowing the user to add additional ingredients apart from those listed in their selected recipes.
3. Having a separate virtual pantry feature comes out handy while ordering ingredients.
Platform selection:
Certain applications provide direct access to the grocery store platform, while others redirect users to external delivery services. Walmart and Instacart are the two most prevalent alternatives for this feature.
Third party delivery services:
Here, users can manage their ingredients. The following features enhance the user experience:
**Out-of-Stock Replacement:** A feature that enables users to replace out-of-stock items, providing convenience.
**Checkout Options:** Users can clearly select the desired checkout option, whether pickup or delivery, simplifying the process.
**Location-Based Store Display:** Stores are displayed based on location hierarchy, prioritizing proximity to the user's PIN code, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
Proposed User Path
The results of the user research and competitor analysis were disseminated to all relevant stakeholders, encompassing the software development team, product manager, and marketing team. Subsequent to soliciting feedback from the product manager, I formulated the following feature guidelines pertaining to the proposed user journey:
